The Wellness, Wisdom & Wonder book club

Taking reading from solitary to sociable

The Wellness, Wisdom and Wonder Book Club

An event for sharing in and supporting our personal and spiritual development using books, podcasts, and films as anchors for our discussions.
This is a non-denominational space where we share inspiration and wisdom from a range of sources. The aim is for our reading and spiritual/self-development to have a more sociable element.

We do not follow the same book together like other book groups and we are not a debate group like a philosophical club might be.

We are gently exploring what it means to be human – and with so many self-help books out there it can be overwhelming on our own!?

By sharing and comparing what we’ve discovered we hope to pick our way through all the lessons to find some wisdom and wonder to simply enjoy together as a group.

There’s often reflection but also a lot of laughter and goosebump moments to be had. People tend to go home feeling uplifted and inspired.

Get in touch to join our mailing list and book your space for our next get together!

While checking availability on the day is possible, drop-ins are not.

Book club cost: £5

All readers interested in the topics of health, spirituality and wellbeing are welcome!

(While some of us know each other via Reiki, this is not a Reiki event)

Author workshops - 2nd Dec 2025 & 10th Feb 2026

In December, we had our first ever author visit!

We were joined by Sue Bayliss who workshopped with us about her book ‘The Hero’s Path’.

A fantastic evening with a follow up coming February 10th – an opportunity to meet Sue for anyone who couldn’t join us in December and a follow up for those who did and want to work further with the themes in the book.

When: Tuesday 10th February 7-9PM (doors open from 6:45PM)

Cost: £5 entry. Sue’s book will be on sale for a book club price of £10.

If you would like to join, contact Deb Harding to book your space. We are unable to accept drop-ins.

Feedback from our first workshop with Sue:

“Just wanted to say a big thank you to you and Sue for a wonderful and inspiring evening. It’s been a challenging week (and it’s only Wednesday!), but the events so far have definitely been part of my soul growth and Hero’s Path! Just when I was wondering “what next”, Sue’s book came along to help me on my path, so please send her my love and thanks.”

“It was a wonderful evening!
Sue was great.  She divided us into little groups to discuss and then feedback. It was a very lively evening. Everyone really seemed to have enjoyed it!”

About The Hero’s Path:

In our fast paced techno-consumer society, we often lose track of who we really are. The Hero’s Path is an inspirational call to action, inviting each of us to step into the role of hero in our own lives. Drawing on the timeless wisdom of Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey, this transformative work outlines the essential steps and stages that guide us toward rediscovering our true selves and uncovering our soul’s purpose. Through the captivating stories of four modern-day heroes and heroines, we explore the challenges they faced and the insights they gained – wisdom that can illuminate our own paths. This book offers a powerful vision of what is possible when we embrace our authentic selves and work together to heal our world.
