Give and receive treatments
Reiki shares at The Usui Reiki Centre
Whether you trained with us or elsewhere, if you would like to share in Reiki together then join our mailing list to receive updates and invitations to the share group events.
We currently offer two types of Reiki share:
- The Community shares where all levels of Reiki students (we’re always students of Reiki whatever level we are) can join together to fulfil the second and third part of the principles of regular practice: give treatments and receive treatments. (regular self-treatment being the other principle)
- The Reiki Two shares are for students with Second Degree and master level training so they can join together to practise sending distance Reiki in a group setting.
Booking your place in advance is required. You can contact us on the day to check availability but drop-ins are not an option due to preparing the space.

Give and Receive Treatments
Reiki Community Shares
These are held monthly for anyone new to or experienced with their Reiki practice to join together and share in giving and receiving treatments.
It’s a great way to boost confidence with the hand positions and to feel part of a Reiki community.
Usually held on the 4th Saturday each month either at 11AM-1PM or 2-4PM – times are confirmed each month on the email invitations.
These shares provide regular opportunities to:

practise and gain confidence with the Usui Shiki Ryoho hands-on hand positions

give and receive treatments (an essential part of the Usui Reiki practice: self treat, treat others, receive treatments)

become part of a growing and supportive Reiki community
We can demonstrate and guide anyone new to our Reiki shares, returning to Reiki after a long period of not practising, or for those who have learnt other ways of practising such as hands off.
We have also compiled a guide to the Usui Shiki Ryoho hand positions which is available to consult if needed. While Reiki courses are an oral tradition, we recognise the importance of ensuring confidence, comfort, and safeguarding when sharing together for both the giver and receiver of the treatment. The guide is aimed at supporting everyone with those elements of safe practice.
We find there is something very freeing about following the hand positions and the chimer so both the giver/s and receiver can relax into the treatment with a clear sense of when they begin and end, enjoy the communal feel, and time the treatments fairly for everyone to get equal time on the table.

Deepening our Practice
Reiki Two Shares
These shares are for Second Degree students and beyond only. Due to the nature of these sharing circles, they are for students who trained with us, Tripuri or Debs Hoy.
They are a great opportunity to build confidence in our distance Reiki practice. Our approach is not about manifesting but learning to surrender and hand over to the higher good – then step out of the way. This is part of the personal development, spiritual discipline, and mystic order aspects of Reiki.
Held every other month, on a Saturday afternoon 2-5PM, we combine distance Reiki with discussion often based around a theme.
- anything connected to the Reiki 5 Principles eg ‘Who are our difficult teachers and how can we honour them?’
- ‘What’s disturbing our peace?’
- ‘What does Reiki want from us?’
- Developing our awareness and appreciation of ‘joy’ in our lives and the lives of others
- Sending Reiki to personal issues in our lives
(there’s never any obligation to share details as our purpose is to support each other in our personal practices and development)
These Reiki circles are a safe space for self-development rather than therapy or counselling sessions.
